Description
Little people who lived in the woods long ago, They are rarely over a foot tall.
Today they still favor lands near the woods, but have settled among many races. Their knowledge of the flora and fauna have served them well in a number of professions from chemistry to zoology, to botany.
( In D&D these guys were apparently taller than Halflings, which caught me by surprise... I always figured them to be the size of garden gnomes... so in my lore, these guys actually ARE the size of garden gnomes. )
