Torrentos the Water God

On Tumblr I mentioned that I would be designing gods for Shino's world ( a world that needs a name ) after a massive character bio meme brought to my attention how Shino had no religeon, and seeing as how gods are pretty big elements in Fantasy wolds, and are a good excuse to point the finger at for inexplicable fuckery, there really was no reason not to have them.

They may not play a big role in the story, and some of them may not play a role at all, but they may be fun to design. I should have designed a different god first, considering I only know of two or three gods that actually will be used, but the Water God was the only one I had a clear vision of.

He generally pays no mind to land dwellers, but will punish them if he catches them dumping their waste into his water or fishing more than their fair share. He is generally very calm. He is good friends with the God of Wind, who carries his water from time to time through the sky. Torrentos asks that his followers stay in or around the sea for most of their lives, and make the sea a welcoming place.

The Gods are in a competition of sorts, over the number of followers they have. They try to entice followers with a promise of some reward in the afterlife, in Torrento's case, he promises a beautiful home in the sea of the afterlife, and the ultimate control over water.
